14 Things to do in Arniston

Arniston is a quaint seaside village located on the Southern Coast of the Cape, just a 2-hour and 35-minute drive from Cape Town. As there are no trains or buses operating to this destination, you’ll need to use your own car or rent one to reach this hidden gem.

Arniston offers a few attractions, but it truly shines as a destination for beach lovers and those seeking a peaceful escape from city life. Unlike Cape Town, Arniston lacks a vibrant nightlife scene, making it an ideal retreat for relaxation. Here, you can immerse yourself in stunning natural beauty, forget your worries, and disconnect from the pressures of urban living.

Explore numerous hiking trails and discover the unique fynbos plants that thrive in the area. You can also enjoy guided walking tours along the picturesque blue coastline. During my visit, I took a refreshing walk, enjoyed an ice-cold swim, and watched seagulls as the waves crashed onto the
